Applying for Presentation:
1) How to apply -

    Open the Application Form. Enter the title of the paper, name,
    affiliation and contact address/ telephone/ fax and e-mail of the
    applicant along with submission of the abstract (approx. 100
    words) and key words of the paper.  The Application Form is linked
    to the Symposium's webpage.  Choose preferably three key words
    among those shown in

    key words presented for contributors to the Information Processing
    Society of Japan, and submit with the attached codes;
    e.g. "2010101 graph theory", "2010102 theory of combination" et
    al.

    After the application is successfully accepted, your Reception
    Number and password will be given by e-mail.  Using the password,
    submit the whole paper according to the following "About the
    Paper".

    Use of Internet Explorer is recommended as the web browser when
    applying through the Application Form.  Upon completion of
    application to the form, an e-mail of confirmation will be sent to
    make sure of your application.  Access the URL shown in the
    e-mail, and your application will be finalized.

2) Application period -
    From Wed., Jan.4 to Tue., Jan.31 (duly by 5:00 p.m.) ← Extension

3) Notification of selection results -
    As many number of presentation as possible will be accepted, but
    we may have to limit the number of candidates in case the
    submission of papers should exceed our capacity.  Authors of
    papers that are not to be chosen for presentation will be informed
    of the circumstances by Fri., Jan.22, 2017.  Should there be a
    case that no notification reaches with regard to the selection
    results, please contact the address or number as shown below.

4) Enrolment fee -
    \1,000 (JPY) including a CD-ROM of collected papers for the
    Symposium

5) Others -
    Students attending from distant places may be granted a part of
    travelling expense provided that he/ she is a student member of 
    Information Processing Society of Japan and that the university he/  
    she attends cannot support his/ her travelling expenses. Please apply
    for it through the Application Form, assenting in advance that there 
    are cases where aids may not be provided complying with requests.
    `A student member of Information Processing Society of Japan'  
    includes both current members and those who have already applied for
    a membership,waiting for an approval. Please refer to the final part 
    of this document for an application procedure.

1) Academic Fields -
    Entire area of information science and/or engineering

2) Manuscript format -
    The format of the paper to be submitted is subject to that of
Information
    Processing Society of Japan. Please refer to the webpage as shown 
    below for details.

    Maximum volume of the article is eight(8) pages, written in a two 
    column portrait layout on A4 sized papers.  On the first page, the
    title,author's name and affiliation and abstract of the academic 
    paper are to be written down using both English and Japanese.  
    Text sentences can be written on the first page, if applicable. 
    When using a stylefile, please confirm it includes the following 
    headers: IPSJ SIG Technical Report.  In addition, the year describing
    the copyright in the footer is 2017.

3) How to submit the paper -
    Please use our Submission Format to submit your manuscript made into
    a PDF file.  When submitting, your Reception Number issued on 
    application must also be shown by naming your file as "the Reception 
    Number.pdf".
    You can submit your manuscript more than once, deeming the final
    submission as the finalized version.
    In addition, please download the "Copyright Assignment Agreement"
    form from our website 
       http://www.ipsj.or.jp/copyright/ronbun/index.html and fill
    in to complete the contract before posting it to the below stipulated
    address.  Your Reception Number has to be written on the upper right
    side of the envelope to send the contract as well as specification in
    red ink that you have enclosed your "Copyright Assignment Agreement".

5) Submission deadline -
    at 12:00 p.m., on Sunday, February 5th, 2017 ← Extension

6) Encouragement Awards -
    Those who come under all four categories as shown below are
    eligible for Encouragement Awards:
     1.  A presenter who is under 35 of age on Apr.1 coming after the
         presentation
     2.  A registered applicant as a presenter who actually has
         performed a presentation
     3.  A presenter who have never received an Encouragement Award
         prior to this Symposium
     4.  A member of Information Processing Society of Japan
    Please note that an eligible presenter who has gone through the
    appropriate application will be awarded.  Past award winners are

7) Publishing finalized manuscripts on-line -
    After closing the Symposium, electronic files of finalized
    manuscripts will be open to public.  If you do not wish to make
    the manuscript published, please choose "not to publish" in the
    presentation application form.

The social gathering:
    After the session on Wed., March 1, 2017, a social gathering for
    the presenters will be held at the co‐op canteen.  Please let us
    know if you wish to attend it, or sign up for it at the reception
    desk on the day.  Pay \1,000(JPY) (the finalized amount will be
    announced later) to attend.
